Job Description

Schlouch Incorporated has been Eastern PA’s leading site preparation specialist since 1983 and we are still growing! As a reputable leader in our field, we have a proven track record of delivering high-quality projects on time and within budget. We are currently looking for a talented and experienced Heavy Civil Estimator with at least 3-5 years of Heavy Civil experience and an entrepreneurial spirit to join our dynamic team.

 

Responsibilities:

· Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential opportunities and risks.

· Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for heavy civil projects including: earthwork, utilities, roads, and other infrastructure components.

· Conduct thorough quantity take-offs and solicit competitive quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.

· Collaborate with project teams to establish and track project schedules and milestones.

· Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors.

· Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and vendors to ensure favorable terms, conditions, and pricing.

· Monitor subcontractor performance and address any issues promptly.

· Identify and assess potential risks associated with projects and develop mitigation strategies.

· Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in heavy civil construction.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Civil Estimator with a minimum of 3-5 years in the industry.
  • Strong proficiency in estimating software and project management tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Thorough understanding of heavy civil construction processes, materials, and methods.
